Blogic at the NoLimits Business Meetup: On Technology, People, and European Robotics

This year's edition of the NoLimits Business Meetup took us to the Faculty of Applied Informatics (FAI) at UTB in Zlín. For Blogic, it was a great opportunity to meet industry colleagues, students, and tech enthusiasts, and to discuss the current direction we are heading in.

What is NoLimits and why does it excite us?

The NoLimits event, driven by Lukáš Rudý, Petr Novák, and Petr Eliáš, has long been a traditional meeting point for anyone interested in the intersection of business and modern technology. The FAI in Zlín provides the ideal setting for such a meetup – the faculty has a long history of producing top talent in IT and automation, which is exactly the foundation that Czech tech companies build upon.

The atmosphere was professional, yet full of energy. Our booth was practically the center of attention the entire time – we would like to thank everyone who stopped by for a chat about software development or simply to grab a refreshing CANS.

On Stage: Jan Pálka on What Really Drives Us

One of the highlights of the program was the presentation by our Head of Sales, Jan Pálka. Honza didn't just limit himself to showcasing what we do at Blogic – he also addressed the broader topics that are currently moving the tech world.

Project George: A Humanoid Robot with European DNA

We presented our vision for the humanoid robot, George. While George might physically be traveling elsewhere instead of Zlín for now, the idea behind him was very much present. George is more than just a technology project – it is the answer to the question of whether Europe can build its own robotics platform without relying on external components and decisions.

The Symbol of the Blue Switch

You might have noticed a blue switch on our t-shirts. It’s not just merch – it’s a symbol. During his talk, Honza explained the meaning behind it: technological sovereignty. We are building George as a strictly European project with a focus on independence. In practice, this means the technology we develop must not depend on whether someone on the other side of the world decides to "switch it off." In an era where supply chains, cloud platforms, and software licenses are the subject of geopolitical disputes, this isn't paranoia – it’s a responsible approach to development.

Shaping the Future Together

The meetup reaffirmed for us that robotics and advanced IT are no longer sci-fi concepts, but have become everyday reality – and that the number of people eager to be a part of it is growing.

A huge thank you to the organizers for a seamless event and to the faculty for the fantastic venue.
